Thrift Trip: Nevada City

Thrift Trip: Nevada City

Here we go on a Thrift Trip: Nevada City. There’s gold in them thar thrifts, I’ve discovered! Our recent adventures took us to the sweet little town of Nevada City, California. Fortunately we have a great excuse to go thrifting in this neck o’ the woods, as we have relatives in the area. So, -a-thrifting-we-a-went! The little town of Nevada City really has something for everyone. On Saturday mornings, there is a lovely Farmer’s Market in their quaint, historic downtown. If you want to grab a nice lunch, be sure to put your name in at Ike’s ahead of time to avoid the hour-long wait. Or, saunter off the beaten path a little and check out The Fix where you can find food and unique clothing and jewelry. And, if you’re lucky enough to be in town for dinner, you’ll definitely want to eat at New Moon – one of my personal favorites.

I also highly recommend stopping in The Parlour – a vintage clothing store with some great finds. They also sell locally made products from various artisans like their beautiful soy candles decorated in vintage fabrics, lovely jewelry and all sorts of other cute things that make great gifts for you or someone you love. We found a great vintage cowboy shirt for Greg for a mere $18 (would have been double that in the Bay Area) and a lovely vintage sundress for moi for $15.

If you need a little refreshment from all that thrifting you’re likely to do, try standing in line at the popular Treats where you can find the most delicious hand-made artisan ice cream (loved the Violet flavor). Yum.

  1. Is your hubby the one in the tie dye or the cool vintage shirt, hat and classic frames 😉

    1. Nothing against tie-dye, Rudy, but my hubby is the one in the cool vintage shirt, of course! Happy Thrifting!
