You may already know (from reading my Berkeley post) that the Out of the Closet thrift stores in the Bay Area are not on my “Top 10 List,” and the best ones I’ve ever been to from this chain are in LA, but a thrift store is a thrift store and since you never know what just might turn up, then I believe you should still give it a look-see and make up your own mind. This store is very close to Lake Merritt, across from the infamous Merritt Restaurant, so it gets bonus points for that, as well as for it’s free parking. Here you’ll find larger furniture pieces, appliances, a nice-sized book section and the usual clothing and accessories for both genders. It seems like a good place to find unusual art pieces. I personally didn’t find anything while I was there, but here’s hoping you have better luck!Out of the Closet, Oakland 238 East 18th St.
