Recently, I just happened to see a sign across the street from the East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse. As it turns out, the folks from Claussen House formed a brand new 501 (c) 3 and founded The Temescal Community Foundation. They’ve gracefully taken over the old Hooper’s Chocolate Buildings on Telegraph Avenue and all the wonderful things that you loved about Claussen House can now be found just a few doors down the street. Yay!

Proceeds benefit among other things the Ashoka Foundation which provides instructional support and materials for an anti-bullying curriculum that will be offered at a local elementary school. It also provides retail training to young adults in Oakland.
