Avid Alameda County thrifters remember the good ol’ days when this all volunteer-run thrift was located on E. 14th Street, where it was frequented by dealers and ordinary folk, alike. Unfortunately, its new location isn’t quite the same, but that said, it’s still worth a visit to see what quirky housewares or vintage items may turn up. Sale tag colors rotate monthly, and there’s usually a half-off sale going on for overstocked items marked with a red dot. On a recent visit, the daily special was “All cameras $1.00.” It’s only a block off E. 14th Street, and it’s dangerously close to Los Pericos Taqueria, in case you need a mid-day break from all the heavy lifting, I mean thrifting.
Hours: Monday to Saturday 10 to 4, Closed Sunday. Accepts donations during business hours
Proceeds go to the George Mark Children’s Home for terminally-ill children in Castro Valley.
