The sweet little town of Larkspur is listed on the National Register of Historic Places because it is ‘typical of a small California town at the turn of the century.’  Nestled at the base of Mt. Tamalpais on Magnolia Avenue, which used to be the main thoroughfare through Marin County, the town’s quaintness has remained, but fortunately some things have changed.  Like the local law that once told folks that it’s “unlawful to ride, drive or lead any horses, cows, mules or large animals on sidewalks.”
