Community Projects Thrift Store in Napa is wonderful. Dive into one of my favorite thrift stores around (this building used to house an indoor swimming pool). I still lament the beautiful vintage prints that I once saw here. They were out of my budget, but I haven’t stopped thinking about them and its been years! I’m sure that a local interior designer snatched them up as soon as she saw them. Don’t let the same thing happen to you. When you see something you love, buy it. And, conversely, as a friend says, ‘If it’s not a yes, it’s a no.” Good thoughts to have while thrifting.
Here you will find men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, vintage pieces, antique and vintage housewares and gobs of vintage buttons. Don’t miss the back room where you’ll find books and antiques in the glass case. This is also where they tend to put seasonal items, linens and furniture pieces. And, on a recent visit, they even had day-old flowers donated by Trader Joe’s. We bought quite a lovely bouquet for $1.50. And, let’s not forget about the hand-made tea towels that volunteers embroider. You can find those in the main room in a glass case near their jewelry.
Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday – same as the donation hours
