Helpers Bazaar in Ghirardelli Square

Helpers Bazaar is rather special when it comes to thrift stores because its donors happen to be some of the City’s most infamous residents.  In fact, it somehow seems wrong to call it a “thrift store” and is more aptly called a “charity store.”   Here you’ll find upscale designer wear, vintage treasures from fine estates, menswear from Wilkes Bashford, as well as some of the most beautiful costume jewelry around.  And, don’t miss the vintage section in the back of the store.  Joy Venturini  Bianchi, the store’s Director isn’t naming any names, though.  She is the store’s style maven who wears outrageously unique eyewear and has the heart of a saint.

Helpers Bazaar is located just below the Crown and Crumpet Tea Room in Ghirardelli Square on the Lower Plaza level.    There’s no better upscale “thrifting” than this in the Bay Area!  And, if you’re lucky, you may get to meet Joy, who definitely lives up to her name.  Treat yourself to one of  the treasures that find a new life here (it’s all for a great cause!), then treat yourself to one of Kara’s Cupcakes one level up.  It will be a perfect day!

  1. A lifelong fashion-lover and thrifterella, I have never actually been in your shop as I’ve usually come by too early in the day, but I guaranteed that many of the noseprints on your door are mine! I would love to meet the Helper’s Bazaar crew and see if my thrifty ways would be a help to you all.
